My Story

Hey! I’m (Gunjan Sarojwal), a full-time mother, an IT professional, an enthusiastic traveller and a storyteller. Travelling has become my favourite pastime over the past few years, as I can connect with every element of nature and experience in all its forms while doing so. Through my travels, I have grown into a strong spirited woman. Every place that I travel to, every path that I take, helps me to keep going.

During my childhood, my grandparents used to tell me inspiring stories of the places they had visited and I would fantasize about going to those places. I have always been very interested in India’s history, mythology, various cultures, and traditions, and am proud of its diverse cultural heritage. I adore my country and have always wanted to explore every nook and corner of it.

When I was 17, I was studying English Literature and in my college coursebook, I came across a famous sonnet by Robert Frost: Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening. The poem’s final phrase, “And miles to go before I sleep.” struck a chord within me. I pondered upon the literal interpretation and everything I still had to accomplish before I die. As my mother has always taught me the importance of gaining and sharing knowledge, I knew I surely wanted to embrace life to the fullest and share my experiences.

As I grew older, I faced various hardships but the phrase “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” kept me going. Life took me along various paths between 2012 and 2022. I travelled thousands of miles to the most secluded locations in search of solace, calm, and detox from the glamour and hustle of everyday city life. I am a person who is deeply linked to their surroundings, to mother nature, and I value all life forms. I consider myself to be just another element of life, with a finite lifespan but an infinite capacity for learning and educating through travel.

Although my life partner was travelling with me for a break, for a change, my reasons for travel were far deeper. As a spiritually inclined nature lover, I endeavoured to absorb every natural aspect that brought me contentment everywhere I went. Everything I touched seemed to be eager to tell me a story. Sometimes it was a volcanic crater in Mauritius, a 1000-year-old tree’s bark in Vrindavan, a pebble shaped by a river in Rishikesh, a Stupa in Nepal, a traditional instrument in a Rajasthan fort, or at times it was just a starry night sky in Spiti, breezy meadows in Lohsar, a monastery’s rooftop, the confluence of rivers, monk chants, prayer bells, and folk songs.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, I began working on my blog, and now I wish to exchange my stories with you. Through my blog, I intend to document some of the remarkable experiences I’ve had while exploring numerous locations around India. I would like to guide and support you in journeying to the most renowned destinations across India so that you, too, can bond with nature and experience serenity.
